The Technology

Fillipio's signal engine runs a daily pipeline that processes market data for 4,949 US stocks and ETFs across NYSE, NASDAQ, and NYSE ARCA. The pipeline computes 25+ technical indicators (RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, ADX, OBV, and more), then feeds these into a LightGBM gradient boosted tree model with 51 features to predict 5-day forward returns.

The composite score (0–100) blends technical analysis (35%), ML predictions (35%), and fundamental data (30%) when available. Three algorithmic strategies — Momentum Breakout, Value Hunter, and Quality Growth — translate these scores into paper trades with real position sizing, stop-losses, and take-profit targets.

The ML model is retrained monthly using walk-forward validation on rolling market data. Its strongest capability is identifying stocks likely to decline: bottom-ranked stocks lose an average of -3.2% over 5 trading days. This powers our Risk Radar feature.
